Description
Rural Doctors Network invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified Clinical Psychiatrists to provide outreach mental health services across Aboriginal Medical Services (AMSs) in NSW.
These opportunities support improved access to specialist psychiatric care for Aboriginal communities and are delivered through flexible outreach models, combining face-to-face visits and telehealth. Clinicians are supported with cultural orientation, practice management, and strong clinical governance frameworks.
About the Role
This role supports children and young people with a broad range of mental health and developmental needs, delivered in partnership with families, carers, schools, and community services.
Experience or interest in ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment is highly regarded but not essential.
This role is a hybrid model, though would require travel to rural and remote NSW of approximately 75% of the service for in-person clinics.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Child and adolescent psychiatric assessment and treatment
- Diagnostic clarification across developmental and mental health presentations
- Working closely with families and carers in family centered models
- ADHD assessment and management (desirable)
- ASD assessment and diagnostic input (optional)
- Collaboration with AMS teams, education services and paediatric providers
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Current AHPRA registration
- Fellowship of the RANZCP (Child & Adolescent) or equivalent, or
- RANZCP Fellowship Trainee with supervision
- Experience or strong interest in child and youth mental health
- Commitment to culturally responsive, community led care
