Description
Rural Doctors Network invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified Clinical Psychiatrists to provide outreach mental health services across Aboriginal Medical Services (AMSs) in NSW.
These opportunities support improved access to specialist psychiatric care for Aboriginal communities and are delivered through flexible outreach models, combining face-to-face visits and telehealth. Clinicians are supported with cultural orientation, practice management, and strong clinical governance frameworks.
About the Role
This role is tailored for an Adult Psychiatrist with a strong interest in adult ADHD assessment and management, working within community based, culturally responsive models of care.
You will support improved access to adult ADHD diagnosis and treatment for Aboriginal people in rural and regional communities, working closely with AMS teams and primary care providers.
This is a Hybrid role, where travel is required for approximately 75% clinical time.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Adult psychiatric assessment and diagnostic clarification
- Adult ADHD assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning
- Medication initiation and monitoring, aligned with best practice guidelines 4
- Collaboration with GPs, mental health clinicians and AMS clinical teams
- Supporting shared care arrangements and continuity of treatment
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Current AHPRA registration
- Fellowship of the RANZCP, or
- RANZCP Fellowship Trainee with appropriate supervision, or
- Rural Generalist with advanced mental health skills
- Experience or strong interest in adult ADHD
- Commitment to culturally safe, collaborative care
