Austin Health is one of Victoria’s largest health care providers. Comprising the Austin Hospital,
Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital, Royal Talbot Rehabilitation, Hospital in the Home and community
based health services; Austin Health is an internationally recognised leader in clinical teaching,
training and research, with numerous university and research institute affiliations.
Austin Health's Mental Health Division incorporates a number of specialties and services across community and bed-based services, with inpatient beds located on all three campuses. The Division provides catchment-based area mental health services, in addition to a number of regional and state-wide specialty services.
The Mental Health Division supports the rights of consumers to receive treatment in the least restrictive environment possible and delivers care which is consistent with the Mental Health Act 2014 and the National Standards for Mental Health Services. Service delivery is underpinned and supported by contemporary operational and clinical governance structures, and relevant policy and process.
