Description
About Epsychiatry:
At Epsychiatry, we’re redefining psychiatric care by integrating clinical expertise with digital innovation to improve access to high-quality mental health services. Founded in 2019 and led by a psychiatrist alongside two software developers, we provide telepsychiatry services for a broad range of conditions, including ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, and other psychiatric presentations.
Whether you're nearing the end of registrar training, restricted by the 19AB moratorium, seeking a structured and efficient remote practice, or a retired psychiatrist looking to return to a limited clinical workload, we offer flexible opportunities tailored to your preferences. From the outset, we work with you to shape your caseload, referral flow, and session structure in a way that supports your goals.
Why Contract with Epsychiatry
Transparent Remuneration: We offer a clear and consistent service fee of 20.5% plus GST. Our psychiatrists average $860 per hour in billings, resulting in a net income of approximately $665 per hour after service fees and GST. For a seven-hour clinical day, this equates to a take-home of around $4,700 per day. Learn more about potential earnings using the fee calculator on our Epsychiatry homepage: www.epsychiatry.com.au.
Structured Practices: Over 96% of our initial appointments fall under the telehealth equivalent billing code 296, rather than item 291. Unparalleled Flexibility: Start with a minimal commitment of just 1 hour per week, scaling freely to your preferred schedule ranging from 1 to 35+ hours weekly, with the freedom to work weekends and evenings. With no long-term obligations, you can adjust or step away at your convenience, supported by a simple four-week notice period.
Robust Referral Network: Benefit from our select network of over 1,750+ accredited GP clinics.
Autonomy in Rejecting Referrals: As a contractor there is no obligation to accept a referral. Referrals require your approval before client registration. Additionally, if you require more information from a client or GP before making a decision, our team facilitates that communication on your behalf.
Thriving Growth & Steady Workload: As of November 2025, Epsychiatry has achieved a 16% year-on-year increase in monthly appointments. Over the past 12 months, we’ve facilitated more than 8,000 appointments, ensuring a robust and consistent patient flow for our psychiatrists. With clients averaging over 3 appointments annually, you can focus on ongoing therapeutic work rather than constant new intakes.
Clinician Retention Rates: Our psychiatrists and clinical psychologists typically find long-term satisfaction at Epsychiatry, with current average engagement of 2.5 and 4 years, respectively.
Clinician Coordinator: Work seamlessly with a dedicated 1:1 admin coordinator, a single contact for both you and your clients, ensuring efficient communication.
Full Suite of Services: Our all-inclusive offering covers booking, billing, and bookkeeping, allowing you to focus entirely on clinical care-free from administrative burden. Our onboarding process supports you from the outset with software setup and familiarisation with clinic processes.
Software Flexibility: Recognising the varied preferences, Epsychiatry supports the use of different medical software and videoconferencing tools by our clinicians. Let us know your preferences at the time of application.
Leave Flexibility: Epsychiatry has successfully supported psychiatrists taking extended leave, including absences of 6 months or more. A long-standing team of psychiatrists supported by dedicated 1:1 admin coordinators, whom clients often know by name, and proprietary scheduling tools ensures seamless client management during these periods.
