About the Role
Forensicare is Victoria’s specialist provider of forensic mental health services. We are seeking a Hospital Lead, Psychiatry in this newly created role, to provide operational and strategic leadership for psychiatrists across Thomas Embling Hospital. This role ensures psychiatric care is safe, person-centred, and evidence-based, while fostering innovation and professional development.
You will work closely with the Director, Clinical Services to support broader directorate priorities, including governance, innovation, and integrated models of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead psychiatric services ensuring safe, evidence-based care aligned with strategic priorities.
- Supervise and develop consultants and registrars, promoting clinical excellence.
- Coordinate medical workforce planning, including rotation schedules and leave management, to maintain service continuity and operational efficiency
- Support the Director, Clinical Services strengthening clinical governance, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive workforce planning, governance, and service innovation.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and support integrated models of care.
About You
- Fellowship of RANZCP (or equivalent) and AHPRA registered, with substantial experience in psychiatry and prior experience as a forensic psychiatrist.
- Advanced Training Certificate highly regarded.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of clinical governance principles in the delivery of safe, high-quality forensic mental health services
- Proven leadership in clinical settings, including experience managing and supervising a medical workforce.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
