Access TeleCare, a leading behavioral health solutions provider, is currently seeking board-certified Consult-Liaison Psychiatrists to join our team! This is a unique opportunity to lead and innovate in a fully remote role, helping to shape the future of behavioral health at scale.
Opportunity Highlights:
The Consultation–Liaison Psychiatrist provides remote psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients admitted to medical and surgical units within the hospital. The role focuses on the interface between medical illness and mental health, supporting primary medical teams in the management of psychiatric conditions that affect patient care, recovery, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric consultation for patients admitted to medical, surgical, ICU, and specialty units.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including assessment of mood disorders, delirium, psychosis, anxiety, substance use, cognitive disorders, and behavioral disturbances.
- Diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions in medically ill patients.
Initiate and adjust psychotropic medications with attention to medical comorbidities, drug interactions, and organ dysfunction.
Assess decision-making capacity for medical treatment and provide documentation as needed.
Evaluate and manage suicidal ideation, self-harm risk, agitation, and behavioral emergencies in the hospital setting. - Assist with management of delirium and neuropsychiatric complications of medical illness.
- Available for Shifts: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm CST (specific to the hospital location) which includes two weekends per month
Consultation and Collaboration:
- Work closely with hospitalists, surgeons, intensivists, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Provide recommendations to primary teams regarding psychiatric diagnosis and treatment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and rounds.
- Support staff in managing behaviorally complex patients.
Documentation:
- Complete timely consultation notes, follow-up notes, and capacity evaluations in the electronic medical record.
Document risk assessments, treatment recommendations, and communication with primary teams.
Education and Support - Provide education to medical staff and trainees on psychiatric conditions in medically ill patients.
- Assist in developing protocols for delirium management, suicide risk assessment, and behavioral emergencies.

Qualifications:
- Board Certified MD or DO
- Experience or fellowship training in Consultation–Liaison Psychiatry preferred
- Telehealth experience would be helpful, but not necessary
- Licensed in a priority state below: (*Combination of these states is a plus)

Eligible for medical licensure and hospital credentialing
Skills:
- Strong interdisciplinary communication
- Expertise in psychopharmacology in medically ill patients
